Secura International Pty Ltd trading as Secura Protective Solutions (“Secura”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect when you use https://securasolutions.com.au, ring us, email us or become a client, and what we do with it.
1. What we collect
Only what we need to quote, install, monitor and respond:
- Your name, phone number and email address, and whether the enquiry is for a business or a home
- The address of the premises and what you tell us about it, including any photos or plans
- For monitored sites: keyholder names and phone numbers, access instructions, alarm zone descriptions and the response plan you agree with us
- Alarm event records: activations, the calls made, patrol attendances and what was found
- Payment details needed to issue an invoice (we do not store card numbers)
We collect this when you send the enquiry form, ring, email or message us, accept a quote, or supply keyholder and site details for a monitoring or patrol service.
2. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, assess the site, quote and book the work
- To install and commission your system and invoice you
- To monitor your alarm, contact your keyholders and dispatch patrols according to your response plan
- To report alarm events and patrol attendances to you, and to keep the records a licensed security business is required to keep
- To tell you about servicing that is due or a change that affects your system, such as a network shutdown
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists you have not asked to join.
3. Who we share it with
- Guardian Security Group, which operates the control room and patrol fleet that receive your alarm signals and attend your site. Keyholder details, site instructions and event records are shared with Guardian so that it can respond to your alarm; Guardian handles them under its own privacy obligations
- Victoria Police and emergency services, when an alarm event or incident requires it
- Equipment suppliers and subcontractors only as far as the job needs (for example a supplier delivering to your address)
- The software we run the business on (quoting, invoicing, email, alarm and patrol management, and this website’s enquiry service), some of which may store data outside Australia under its providers’ privacy terms
- Your insurer, landlord or head office, at your request
- Anyone we are legally required to disclose to
4. Website analytics and cookies
This site may use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use it and how enquiries reach us (including whether a visit came from an advertisement), and Amazon CloudWatch to monitor how well the pages load. These tools use cookies and collect technical information such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. They do not identify you unless you send us the form. You can block cookies in your browser; the site still works.
Enquiries sent through the form are delivered to our inbox by a service hosted on Amazon Web Services in Sydney. The form does not store your details anywhere else.
5. Storage and security
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above and for the record-keeping periods that apply to licensed security businesses and to tax. Keyholder lists and site instructions are kept current while you are a client and removed when the service ends, apart from event records we are required to retain. Information is stored in password-protected systems with access limited to the people who need it to do their job.
6. Access and correction
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it (keyholder changes in particular should be sent as soon as they happen), or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email info@securasolutions.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
7. Cameras we install
Footage recorded by a CCTV system we install belongs to you and is stored on your equipment, not ours. You are responsible for operating it in line with the Surveillance Devices Act 1999 (Vic) and, where it applies, the Privacy Act; we install systems with signage and camera positions that help you do so.
8. Links to other sites
This site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
