Access control systems

Keys get copied, lost and kept by people who have left. Access control replaces them with fobs, cards or a phone credential that can be cancelled in seconds, lets you decide who can open which door at what hours, and keeps a record of every entry. Secura installs access control for offices, clinics, clubs, warehouses and multi-tenant buildings, on its own or tied into the alarm and cameras.

What you get

What it includes

  • Electric locks, readers and controllers for the doors that matter
  • Fob, card, PIN and mobile-phone credentials, issued and cancelled from one screen
  • Schedules: cleaners in at six, staff from eight, nobody after ten
  • Entry logs that show who opened which door and when
  • Automatic locking and unlocking of front doors to trading hours
  • Intercoms and gate control for car parks and after-hours deliveries
  • Integration with the alarm, so arming and disarming follow the door
  • Expansion door by door as the business grows

Good to know

Before you decide

A leaver takes seconds to remove

When someone leaves, their fob is cancelled from the office and every door knows about it immediately. No re-keying, no wondering how many copies exist.

Doors on a schedule

A front door that unlocks itself at opening time and locks at close removes the morning fumble and the night-time “did we lock up?”. Combined with the alarm, closing time can also arm the building.

Compliance and fire doors

Access control must never trap anyone. Locks are fitted fail-safe on egress paths and tied to the fire system where required, and we document it so your building surveyor and insurer have what they need.

How it goes

Assessment first, then the install

  1. Tell us about the site

Ring or send the form with the address, whether it is a business or a home, and what worries you. Photos and plans help.

  2. Free security assessment

Rob or a technician looks at the site, the existing equipment and how the place is used, and recommends only what will earn its keep.

  3. Install and connect

A written quote first. Then licensed technicians install the alarm, cameras or access control and connect it to the control room.

  4. Monitored and looked after

From day one the control room watches the site, patrols respond when needed, and Secura stays your point of contact for changes and faults.

Questions

Access control: common questions

How many doors is worth it?
One, if it is the door everybody uses. A single controlled front door with scheduled unlocking is the most common starting point; warehouses and clinics usually add staff-only and stock areas next.
Can staff use their phones instead of fobs?
Yes, with mobile credentials on modern systems. Phones are harder to lend to a mate than a fob and are rarely left at home.
What happens in a power cut?
Controllers have battery backup, and locks are specified so people can always get out. Whether a door stays locked or unlocked without power is a decision we make with you per door.
Can it work with the alarm we already have?
Usually. Most alarm panels can be told to disarm when an authorised fob is presented and to arm when the last person leaves, so there is one action instead of two.
